Dodjela Oscara održat će se 15. ožujka 2026., a publiku će i ove godine kroz večer voditi Conan O’Brien, koji se u ulozi domaćina vraća već drugu godinu zaredom. Prije same ceremonije, Akademija će 22. siječnja objaviti službene nominacije, nakon što članovi između 12. i 16. siječnja zaključe završni krug glasanja. Ove godine novost donosi uvođenje kategorije najboljeg castinga, kojom Akademija prvi put službeno priznaje selekciju glumaca kao ključnu kreativnu disciplinu.
Na listama filmova koji su ove godine privukli posebnu pažnju istaknuli su se naslovi „Marty Supreme“ i „One Battle After Another“. Što se tiče hrvatskih predstavnika, film „Fiume o Morte“ redatelja Igora Bezinovića nažalost nije se našao među petnaest naslova koji nastavljaju utrku za Oscara u kategoriji najboljeg međunarodnog dugometražnog filma. Dok s druge strane dva filma trenutačno dominiraju listama, Ryan Cooglerov Sinners i glazbeni spektakl Wicked: For Good. Oba su ostvarenja imala najviše ulazaka na uže liste, uključujući po dvije originalne pjesme, što ih postavlja u sam vrh favorita za 2026.
Bitno je za napomenuti da ulazak na užu listune garantira nominaciju, ali povijesni presjeci potvrđuju da upravo ovdje nastaju najčešći finalisti i kasniji pobjednici.
